Thursday: The morning will start with Wal-Mart sales at about 7:30 a.m. ET. The fiscal stimulus package has proven to be a Wal-Mart stimulus package as consumers convert rebates into basic goods. Jobless claims will follow at 8:30 a.m. and further increases will further lower the outlook for the whole economy. But pending home sales at 10:00 a.m. may be the sleeper: further declines will deepen worries on the housing sector.
